It is as I suspected ....

Researchers have finally found some evidence that chronic fatigue syndrome is the result of sick mitochondria. They've found genetic evidence that CFS sufferers have mitochondria that are vulnerable to certain viral infections (like Epstein-Barr) and don't work right afterward.

I'd been waiting for someone to find something like this. It seems dead logical that malfunctioning mitochondria might result in extreme, pervasive tiredness.

If a few more researchers had read L'Engle's A Wind in the Door I wonder if progress would have been made a bit more quickly in the area and docs wouldn't have been so quick to dismiss CFS as being an imagination of lazy hypochondriacs?
