A new interview up at GUD
Greatest Uncommon Denominator Magazine is posting interviews with various contributors. My poem "Subtlety" is in their new issue, and they posted my interview last night.

In other news, we've been 5 days without decent heat since our ancient furnace died. We've been making do with space heaters, old wool sweaters and cats that huddle around us looking worried. But salvation just arrived in the form of a repairman with a nice shiny new furnace which, according to various reviews, should be much more energy-efficient and quieter and probably even has a secret button that transforms it into Rubimus Prime, a backrub-giving autobot.

I haven't been this happy to see a piece of machinery in a long time. I probably won't be writing any love poetry to the new furnace or anything, but you never know with me.

Hoooray!

Really, I'd say a furnace sonnet would be hilarious.

Alex was going to ask you about this, but I am guessing you'll not be at work today since you're being serviced - Would you and Gary like to go out for Christmas Eve dinner again this year? I'll take care of the check - just a chance for you guys to get out, hopefully relax a little and have a nice night before the holiday after the last week.

Edit: Ack. The GUD website hates IE 7 - I can't get any of their pages to load.

Dude, if I were being serviced, I wouldn't be at work either. :D

Christmas Eve dinner would be great! :) Let us know where and when, and we'll be there with bells on! Well, clothes, anyway.

Have you not the Firefox? I don't even have IE7 installed on any of my main machines, since many of OSU's services break on it. :-\

Sadly, I do not have firefox on my work pc - gotta run the IE 7 for apps we support. :(

I'm working from home that day, so shall we say around 5pmish?

Have you guys been to Windchimes or Joey Chang's on this side of town?

I don't think we've been to either of those restaurants, so either would be fine. Shall we meet at your place ahead of time?

Well, I was gonna say yes and then my boss called and asked me to work in the office. :D

But, I should be out of there around 4:30, and Alex will be home I believe, so if you'd like to be over early that's fine!

I'll call Joey's and Windchimes and see if either are taking reservations for Christmas Eve. Whichever one does gets the vote, after last year. :D

Sorry, Yahoo killed the IE. No idea how, really (color me befuddled--when _is_ Crayola going to come out with that?), but a "yahoo counts this many sites linking to GUD Magazine" counter was the cause of that strange, strange error.

The site is now IE5.5+ friendly once again. Sorry about that!

Very odd, but somehow doesn't shock me. IE's usual problems with someone actually taking advantage of a bunch of neat CSS tricks, maybe?

Thanks, though!

It was a slice of javascript copypasted from Yahoo, so even more black box (linking to js on their server).

I'm just counting myself lucky my first guess as to what to blame was correct, as that was the only guess I had. :)

Ahhh - yeah, that's bat country right there.

And as they said, I'd rather be lucky than good...

Aw comeon! Just a little sonnet for the warmthgiver?!?! Perhaps a haiku? Dirty limerick? :P

Many many hugs!

I have no idea what your 'enjambment' is?

On the other hand, maybe that's sort of intimate.

Enjambment refers to the way lines are broken in a poem; Wikipedia has a pretty good entry on it.
